What would happen if you had to professionally go up against your best friend? Would your friendship and careers last? That’s the question that Delilah, OWN Network’s new legal drama asks.
“They’ve known each other since high school. And Delilah came to Tamara’s rescue and they’ve been attached at the hip ever since,” said writer Devan Renea during the show’s panel. “These two have over two decades of friendship and find themselves in this space where that friendship is now challenged, but they love each other like sisters.”
Coming from Greenleaf creator Craig Wright, the series stars Maahra Hill as Delilah, an attorney working on an intense case in Charlotte, N.C. “She has a strong moral compass,” Maahra shared, adding that the female lawyers she studied to prep for the role are trying to balance their lives and fight for things that are important to them, and as black women, there’s that drive to push a little bit harder.
